There are many varied issues going on around us, all of which have an effect on us one way or another.
To give some examples of issues raised by the public including residents from within our estate.
Quad and trials bikes have been seen on the greenway and adjoining land behind Melstone
avenue. These are a nuisance, noisy and potentially dangerous, they should be reported
to the local police because they are breaking the law. These bikes have been seen
in Bankyfields and other area’s of Tunstall, the respective Residents Associations
are monitoring their activities and up-
Noise is generated by a variety of things! Building work and the use of power tools
is one, any noisy work should be carried out during normal working hours, 7pm is
the recognised cut off time for loud activities, that includes power tools, loud
music -
Alarms, house alarms are another source of noise pollution, these are fitted for various reasons and normally function when needed, but when an alarm goes off indiscriminately and repeatedly it is more than likely to be faulty. A friendly word with the householder should be all that is needed to remedy the situation. If the problem continues the council should be informed.
Tunstall Park and its visitors are experiencing anti social behaviour. In recent months dog walkers have been intimidated by youths claiming the park to be theirs! The lady’s and Gentlemen that use the bowling greens are also subject to the same kind of behaviour, plus the youths ride their bicycles and play football on the bowling greens, which in some cases causes damage to the greens. Youths have been seen on roofs of building resulting in damage, cabling has been ripped off walls causing damage. This is our park and a small element of our society is being irresponsible. The police and council are aware of these issues but they can’t patrol everywhere all of the time, the authorities strongly urge the public to report any anti social activity they see, hopefully these offenders will eventually be caught and dealt with appropriately.
Drunks: You may noticed that there seems to be an increase in the numbers of drunks
in the main area’s of Tunstall, they can be see with open cans of strong larger at
various times of day. This has not gone un-

Enforcement of Dropped Kerbs
If you live in the city and you have your home driveway blocked by another vehicle you can contact us on 237999, giving your name, address, contact number and a description of the vehicle. Please note: anonymous calls can not be responded to.
We may be able to issue a Penalty Charge Notice but can't have the vehicle removed. The idea is that it will discourage them from parking inconsiderately in the future. Please note: the vehicle must be preventing access in order for the officers to enforce. Restricting the view or making it difficult to manoeuvre is not enough.
Officers will attend during normal operating hours:
