After an open public meeting at the Floral Hall, Victoria Park. Tunstall, in Aprill 2008,
The Association was formed, form a small group of volunteers, who all wished to belong
to a body that aimed to be of use within the community.
Residents and members of the newly formed committee, after much deliberation decided
upon the name “Queensland” for many and various reasons, a vote was duly taken and
the final decision made.
Hence we will affectionately refer to our area as the Queensland Estate in our literature.
The Association continued to function up to about the end of March 2009, there were no
Committee meetings for the next six months, at the begriming of October the then Chair
resigned. Upon receipt of this information a committee meeting was called by the vice Chair,
a new Chair was elected during the meeting on 21st October 2009. An open public meeting
was immediately arranged for 1st December 2009.
From this point forward we consider this to be a new start for the Residents Association, we
look forward to working for and on behalf of you the residents of Queensland Estate.
