Wednesday 26th of October 2011 saw the official opening of the brand new play facilities in Tunstall Victoria Park. Patrick Johnson, the son of former pottery factory owner Reginald, opened the new facilities by unveiling a plaque. Patrick said, it gave him great pleasure to see so many young people enjoying themselves, and he would be pleased to report to his family that the donation of £320,000 from the Johnson Foundation had been well spent. Patrick thanked the Victoria Park Trust for all their hard work. The Lord Mayor, councillor Terry Follows, who attended the opening, thanked Patrick for the funds which allowed these changes to happen, and said it’s marvellous to see so many children enjoying the park. Below, a selection of pictures.
